Precision Immunization™
Precision Immunization™ is Multimeric's proprietary platform technology for eliciting highly focused antibody responses. Whereas standard immunizations raise both correctly targeted and ineffective off-target antibodies, Precision Immunization™ is designed to focus the antibody response exactly on the selected target. As such, Precision Immunization™ lies in the middle ground between classical vaccination and the passive administration of specific monoclonal antibodies (e.g., Rituxan®, Herceptin®, Avastin®, Xolair®, and others). Under a grant from the National Institute on Drug Addition (NIDA) of the NIH, Multimeric is performing preclinical testing of Precision Immunization™ as part of a nicotine vaccine designed to help smokers quit cigarettes. If validated by these proof-of-concept studies, Precision Immunization™ should be widely applicable for any indication where strong, specific antibodies are needed.
